Advanta Credit debt

I just received a letter from Advanta saying they are submitting my unpaid credit card account to their legal department for possible judgment. I'm trying to settle multiple credit card debts, have not paid for 3 to 4 months. The Advanta balance is only $4,600. They included a sample legal complaint for a court somewhere. It seems like a threat. They wouldn't really sue, would they? They say they want me to work with them toward a solution.

Work with them towards a solution! You say "only $4600.00." That is a substantial amount and they will sue you! You will not only pay the 4600 but legal fees and court costs which will total around $6000.00 plus you will have a judgement on your credit history which will knock around 100 points off your FICO score! Be smart, You owe it, pay it or pay the price! I am not trying to be cruel just brutally honest!
