Thank you for all the valuable info I received on this forum. I am registered, but forgot my password and have asked for an email with instructions to reset my password.
I just settled with Chase (OC) for 25% will be sending me a confirmation letter within 10 days stating the terms and listing the amount and times for each of the three payments. Then I will receive another letter after all payments are made. They will accept payment by mail or over the phone.

I just want to be sure that I have everything covered and handled correctly. Am I missing anything. thank you.

Yes, Chase cc (OC - original creditor); the acct was still with Chase had not gone to a CA - collection agency. I was 150+ days late. I had been offering 21% since we started talking settlement, but was always declined. After going thru my financial situation again on this last call; they accepted 25%.

I am very thankful that Chase worked with me to settle my debt; all of the CSRs were very nice and helpful. I was always polite and listened more than I talked. Also, I called Chase about once every three weeks or once a month.

Just tell them your hardship and the amount you can afford to pay.....hopefully they will agree on a settlement you can afford to pay. Best of luck to you.

Good Job! and you are welcome. Pass it on to others. We are all just trying to get back on track.

I settled for 30% and might have gotten it lower but just wanted to get it done. 5% lower it terrific for you. But overall, they are taking off 70% at a 30 settlement...it is an incredible deal. Until I found this board, I was headed to bankruptcy.
