You do not need a home to have a lien on your assets. A lien is a legal claim against property owned by you. Your creditors should not be able to put a lien on any of your assets without a court order. If you did not receive a summons, you need to take your creditor back to court and get the judgment vacated. They will not freeze your bank account, but they can garnish both your account and your wages until the debt is repaid.

Hi anonymous, lien and levy is not the same. Levy is when creditors or collection agencies take away your property, or money from your account for non payment of dues. Lien on the other hand is a claim put against your property. When a lien is put against your property, you will not be able to sell it. Only if you pay off the debt, the lien can be removed. Only after the lien gets removed will you be bale to sell the property.
A lien can be put not only against your home but also any other assets you have, like a car or jewelery. etc.
Thanks
