Please help. I have been surved a summons and did not go to the court date due to the advice of my cosolidation company cause I am not disputing that I owen the debt but we are trying to settle with them the entire time. I have now received an Abstract of Judgement - Civil and Small Claims letter from the county clerks office stamped lien notice with A stay of enforcment has not been ordered by the court. What does this mean? I am no longer a home owner. What can they do my assests w/ this lien notice?

Really crappy advice from the consolidation company. They know have a judgment against you and can move forward with wage garnishment and/or bank levy. Plus if they dont want to settle, they have the court on their side. I would be yelling and screaming t the consolidastion company.

Really bad advice from the consolidation company! Unfortunately it is too late to negate the judgement! I would yell and scream too but that will not help! What state are you in? If you have no real property and your income is below your cost of living they will have a hard time collecting on the judgement! Remember the courts are not collectors! They will have to depose you and file for a lien! There are some non garnishment states such as Florida. Unfortunately the judgement is in your credit file for a long time! Contrary to what is said there are a handful, and I mean a select handful, of companies that can, in some cases, get it removed!
