Sonic PayDay
Date: Wed, 06/30/2010 - 10:45
I am in default of a loan for $770 + about $300 in charges to SonicPayDay. Their collector - Northway Financial just threatened that they will enforce the wage assignment that I signed. I just sent them 4 documents:
Notice of Revocation of ACH Withdraw Permission
Notice of Wage Assignment Revocation
Request Letter to Stop Contact of my Employer
Request for Alternative Payment Plan
Am I covered??? Can they still harrase and threaten me?? In my repayment plan I offered to pay them $65 per month for 15 months to pay back the loan.
I'm scared - this is the first time I've defaulted and don't really want my employer to find out about this!!!

Northway Financial is not a collection agency, they are the sister company of Soncipayday. So, the FDCPA does not apply in this situation, unfortunately. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

Well, they aren't in the U.S. so it would be pretty hard to try to enforce our laws on them, however, on the other hand, you aren't located in Malta, so they can't enforce their laws onto you either, even though they might try to say they can, THEY CAN'T!
