Hello, everyone.... thank you for such a wonderful and helpful site. Here is my current story.... Newly married and trying to get my husbands credit fixed to purchase a new home together.....

The loan officer pulled the credit file nessasary to purchase a home, and told us what we needed to do before we could continue with the purchase.... I have sent letters to all the credit card companys (3) asking them for a reduced payoff amount. Now I'm working on the medical bills. To give you alittle past history, my husband has a heart condition, and of course we have no insurance, so everything he gets done he has had to pay for. In the past, somethings have gotten paid, some things have not. Now I'm trying to get the ones on his credit paid off and I'm haveing trouble with finding out who the credit agnecy's are.....Its about $1000.00 in medical bills, my hope is to get them to reduce them and then pay them off in full at one time..... Any suggestions on how to find who these folks are????

cindyg1731, have you checked the latest copy of your credit report from the three major national bureaus? You will get the details of all the accounts used by you.

Remember, you will have to fix up those accounts first that are presently appearing in your file. Send a payment proposal in writing to the company after you have got the address. They will send their approval in writing and you can start the pay offs. Be sure not to miss the payment plan after it has been set. It might happen that some benefits will be offered to you looking at the course of your repayments. Any missed payments will deprive the benefits coming to your way.

Yes, I have a copy of the files and a copy of the report that come's from a mortage office, so I have all the info I need to clear it up, I just have to find the address for the medical bills, those seem to be the hardest to track down. I plan on paying off in full the amount owed, we were very lucky and had enough cash on hand to clear up most of the accounts, without making payment plan......any thoughts on how to get address for medical bills in collection, would be greatly apprecitated!!!!
