If the Chase acct was in your mother's name only and her estate has no assets, there's not much Chase can do. Have you told them that your mother has passed? You may need to provide a copy of the death certificate.

Explain the situation to them, talk to management if necessary; if they continue to call/harass, send them a letter via CMRR stating to not call you anymore.

Thanks everyone..Another thing..my mother gift deeded her home to us in 2007, all papers were filed with clerks office, then she passed in Aug 09, the collectors said the estate was in her name, but county records show it was sold (Gifted) in Sept. I don't think there is anything they can do to lien the property eh?

I think that I will continue to post the progress of this attempt to collect on my mother's Chase card debt. I think it is important for everyone who has this happen to them to be able to see what happens. This is all new to me and I will keep you all informed as things unveil!
