Hello, I have just finished a year of travelling on a working visa in Australia. I have earned money to pay my way around, but now I am stuck with a $ 5,000 debt on my credit card and need to pay it off with a loan immediately, as well as some extra financial help to get me back on my feet in Ontario ( for rent, furniture, food etc. etc) I do not need a huge loan, only about $10,000, but I am coming back into Canada without a job so I will not have proof of income immediately, but will be looking for a job straight away. I do have some personal assets that I have left at my parents house such as a car, laptop, stereo equipment and a bed , but I can't sell them at this point. I am wondering is it possible to receive a small loan like this until I get back on my feet and before I prove a source of income?

To get a loan you need to show an income proof, and in addition you need to have a good credit score (700 and above). You don't have a huge amount of debt. Thus, you can either sell any of your assets to pay off the debt. Else, you can take money from your parents, and pay off the debt. If possible, try to get atleast a part time job as early as possible.
