I'm in the process of trying to settle with Chase Bank and could use some advice. I see people stating they have settled for 20 - 35% - I'm at 150 days behind my last payment and they won't talk anything less than 60% settlement. I'm able to borrow the funds at the 30% mark and no more - I don't want this to go to collection or bad debt right off. Why won't Chase settle with me? My husband and I both work, but have reduced income of more than 50% over the last 2 years. My husband has an illness that prevents him from working full time if at all...desperate times for all. I've not even been able to find a part time job to help. Advice please:)

Thanks...I think I got a trainee today when I called. She told me she would request the settlement amount I proposed, then came back and said they would only go to a much higher amount then they had offered me previously and then she told me to call back because things change daily. This was all after being put on hold several times. I'm feeling very stressed about this today and glad I found this forum...seems like good place to get advice.
