I just got off the phone with american express and boy they don't take no for answer. The senior rep wanted me to give them an amount that i thought i could pay by the 18th of the month and when i said i didn't know how much i would be able to pay they told me that even if i said now that the $103 ( past due amount) could be paid that i could call and change it later. I kinda felt like that would not be right since i am planning on not paying it. at this point my account will go to 60 days late. Should i tell them ok then call right before and tell them i can't make the payment? These phone calls are not easy!!!

I wouldnt agree on the payment. Whenever they call just tell them "I intend to pay you. I just can't pay you now. Thank you for calling." and hang up. Other best solution is to just ignore the call. If its your cell put it on silent.

so is it best to just not answer the calls for a while?
also... i thought these companies stopped calling employers? american express keeps calling my husbands job, and he works on the road and really doesn't want the dispatcher knowing his bussiness, so i went on the we site and deleted his work #. since they have already used it, will they still have it? and if we tell them to stop calling his job, do they have to stop? Thanks for your help !!!
