i recently had a guy named mr. mitchell wouldnt give me his first name. its kinda odd because he had the info from the loan i had received. he told me to send him 1058.00 by the end of july by using a debit card (greendot) to be purchased at walmart. recently i had a car accident which unexpectedly happened and i explained it to him that i defaulted on my loan i have every intention on resolving this matter but was threatened if i didn't pay it by the beginning of august 3, 2010 i was going to be charged with a class c felony and would lose my drivers license, a lien against my home and a warrant for my arrest. i asked if i can send a money order he told me not to and to charge it to a credit card. which i don't have so he told me to ask for it like a loan or ask someone for it. at the time of our convesation he said he was talking to the prosecuting attorney in the state of texas since was a civil matter which i am being sued for it. it was a awhile before he returned to the conversation it was odd what shall i do i don't want this on my record or even on my conscieous.

Do not pay anyone you are not absolutely sure has the right to collect money from you.

You cannot be charged with a felony for not paying your debts, nor can be you be arrested. No one except for the government can put a lien on your home, revoke your drivers license, or garnish your wages without a court order. A felony is a criminal matter not a civil matter and you cannot be arrested for a civil matter.
This sounds like a scam to me, but next time he calls, get the name of the company and their contact information, and either fax or mail via certified mail them a verification and a validation letter. Otherwise, do not pay them, especially with a debit or credit card.
