They keep calling my home phone regarding a Dell account for my ex-husband, they have on several occasions stated they are lawyers. Does anyone know, are they? I plan on getting a tape recorder and start taping the conversations, I know some of the things they say are not true, for example, that I am responsible for his debt even though we were divorced before he acquired the debt. At this point I feel harrassed and just want to gather my evidence.

Send them a written cease and desist letter letter....

Valentine and Kebartas is a collection agency, and not a lawfirm. They are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. You can tell that that you don't owe this debt, and send them a certified cease and desist letter.

However, as for Quote:

you should first check out your state laws regarding recording phone calls. Else, this can create a new problem for you.
