I answered a call this morning form a 999-999-9999 number. On the other in was a man who told me that i was being charged with criminal changes for a payday loan back in 2006. When I asked if he could send me in formation in writing he toldl me that becaus eI lived in the state of ohio, he was oblidged to give me a one time chance to make good on the debt.
He then informed me that because the account was closed that this loan was drawn on I was going to be charged crimminally and that I should secure all dogs on property and make sure there are no guns on the property. He said the sherriff would be there in the next couple days.
I did take a loan out about that time. i know I paid it. I also do not recognize the bank name he gave when i pressed him for information. He said he had all my informationa nd that if I did not pay and wanted info then i could see it at my pretrial hearing
Can I go to jail for this?

no you can't.in fact this idiot is a big time loser.file a police report for the threat.then if this waste of oxygen calls again.hang up in his idiotic face.that is what he deserves.he is a scamming turd in the first degree.

You cannot go to jail for owing money. This is most likely a scam, especially since they refuse to give you the information you are legally entitled to BEFORE they take you to a civil court for a collections suit. Report them to the FTC and your state's attorney general.
If they call again, get their contact info then send them a verification and a validation letter via fax or certified mail. If they are still trying to call you after you know they got the letters and they refuse to verify or validate then send them a cease and desist letter.
