Credit card co summoned me to an attorney

how to find a company or lawyer to protect me during the debt collection process... I have been summoned to go to any attorney...to pay for debt for a credit card. I was unemployed and have recently found a job...but the debt is too big and I used all the money we have to date...I think I need a lawyer to protect me before I see the attorney representing the credit card company....help me
As you have received a summons you will have to answer to that.
