Does anyone know if Waltham, William, Berg and Reeves are attornies or a CA? I searched every place I could on the internet...even on FindLaw where you can search attornies, and came up with nothing. When they call they leave no message and I have not recieved anything from them by mail...makes me suspicious. They call from 800-392-1887. Any info would be great.

When they answer the receptionist says "Waltham, William, Berg, and Reeves". Someone else called it to see what the number was. They don't leave a message when they call. My attorney handling some of my debts advised me to screen my calls and not answer unknown numbers or 800 numbers, so that is why I let the machine pick up...but they just hang up. The number does show up on the caller id, I just can't find out any info about them or what they do. I was just wondering if they are a CA or actually attornies.

I received a message from the 1-800-392-1887 and the person's name was Tom Romano (ext. 5877). I don't know whether to call back...

This another of their telephone numbers. I suspect they keep changing numbers as people get wise to them. They called me with a computerized message on Sunday July 9 2008 at 1:45 pm. I searched the internet for the number and this site was the only place where it was mentioned.
I owe nothing and am not behind in any payments. I intend to sue them. They have called several times before today. They were told that they have the wrong guy and yet they persist. The automated message told me to call but did not tell me what it was about. I called back and left a message that I was not to be screwed with and not to call me again. To take me off their list, and not call again.
Because of your site I now have enough information to contact them directly and fully intend to nail them to the wall...
If they need a real job my lawn needs cutting.

I have ben receiving calls from them as well, I called and requested that they refrain from calling again. The person they were trying to contact is someone whom I have no idea they are. They told me the number was flagged as a wrong number but I got another call again. Once again I called back and the woman told me that it should not happen again and apologized.

They're a collection firm. I have worked at 2 collection firms, I know how they work - the firm doesn't have a bar number, the attorney's who are in the firm do. Not everyone in the company, like the receptionist, will have knowledge of the attorney's bar numbers if they don't directly deal with court documents. If you don't pay your bills, for example your Capital One bill, it will get turned into a collection firm which is Waltman Weinburg & Reis. They ask you for your information (i.e. SSN, birthdate, address, employer) so that they can verify you are the correct person on their file. If you're lucky, it could not be your file. It may be someone with the same first and last name but different middle initial. On the other hand, it could be your file and collection firms are more than willing to help debtors (you) to set up affordable payment arrangements or settlements.
