slight difference with my settement letter
Date: Thu, 07/15/2010 - 21:37
I received a settlement offer today from weltman/weinberg/reis. Below is an example of the letter I received (I copy/pasted text of a similar letter on internet instead of linking to it).
The bolded part was removed from my letter. I cannot google a version like mine on the internet. Is there any reason for concern? Does the removal of this language change what either of us are agreeing to? .. that is, a full and complete settlement?

So the letter you received just states "$520.00 as settlement"?
So the letter you received just states "$520.00 as settlement"? If so you should be okay. The probably just don't want you to expect that your credit report will state that it was paid in full. So they are stating that they are accepting $520 as settlement. But call them and ask them to insert the language and see what they say.

Courts tend to look at the intent, when there is a dispute. In this case, the intent is clearly to put the matter to rest. I say no worries.
