Should I go about it alone?

I notice that my previous question didn't get very many responses. Premiere Debt Solvers is new but not that new to where only two people give feedback. I figured that I joined this forum to get advice, yet it's either been slowly coming or not at all. So I've decided to chuck my debt settlement company and go about it alone. Does anyone have any advice on this? I'm up to date with all my creditors. How long do I get behind on my payments before I start the negotiation process? If I don't hear from anyone or just one person, I'll just close my account altogether on DCC. People will help if they want, but will not help if they don't want to either. I had high hopes for DCC. Lets see if it proves me wrong.:(

Greetings Rozo!

You can certainly do debt settlement yourself.

I digress, as my Grandpappy always said:
"If you want to catch a hog....you gotta get muddy".

Now with Grandpappy in mind and with my humble opinion added, you really have to get reading these forums over and over again. Absorb the information.

I was was just amazed at the replies and how sincere they were!

There is a treasure of info to mine in here.
Only you can make the final descision as to your path of action.

I've sent you a pm for further discussion.

Also I was about to hire a ds company but after reading the itty bitty print, I decided to attack it myself (:cool:with a little help from my friends in here:cool:)

Regarding the PDS folks.....don't know anything about them.

Regards,
King "Kash" Jabba Labba

Hello this is debtor in CA.....listen to Jabba....he is one of the ones who helped me. Read the posts as many of us have been throught it. Me, just recently within the past 6 weeks, I settled about 7 accounts! From everything I have found....the best settlements come after 120 days....you have to wait to get the best settlements. I could not wait any longer because I couldn't take the pressure and just wanted to be done. Since BOA (or the snake as some like to call them ....LOL) settled our largest amount of debt for 25-27% (4 cards)......I was able to settle the rest for between 25 (Chase), 40% (Citi) and 50% (Capitol one) for smaller amounts of debt. Sometimes I dont get replies either....just keep looking at others' threads and posts that pertain to settlements. I read everything I could here and still look at any threads about settlements to pay back the help I received here!!! Don't give up and stay positive...help out others when you can!!! there are many good people here...ready and willing to help....I am grateful to many of them here!

I work for PDS in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. Good/great settlement is THE reality on every day basis for my clients. If you decided to do in yourself, be patient and allow your accounts to age up to 3-5 months, then negotiate with collection agency yourself who buys your debt for pennies. Express your hardship and you may get a great deal. We simply have MORE leverage since we operate with large quantities. Good luck!

I'm still trying to get my first payment refunded, despite the fact that my cancellation was done well within the 30 day period. I'm starting to realize I may never see that money again. Now I see why you guys have an F rating with the BBB.

Sorry to hear about your refund. If you have faxed/mailed us your cancellation notice from page 8 of the Client Agreement within the grace period of 30 days , contact your Customer Rep or our manager Gabriel and ask for a status of your refund. Sometimes NoteWorld, online third party which handles your trust account, takes up to 14 business days to transfer your refunded payment back to your bank. FYI, BBB has a tendency to give bad ratings to anyone who has been in this industry for less than three years. I have many grateful and happy clients who i succesfully settled and saved from default judgement. Debt settlement is not a walk in the park and takes time, patience, great interpersonal skills, luck and tremendous amount of persistence....Please do not forget that you have to do you own research about the process and understand pros and cons of the debt settlement before you commit your finances to somebody-it takes two to tango.
If you wish, email me, so i could help you to investigate your status of refund.
