I too am overwhelmed with payday loans. so much so I do not even get a check sometimes, I started using them due to my husband being out of work. i contacted the AG and informed me that payday loans are illegal in the state of NC. I also tried getting some financial evidence and was informed to just stop paying them and just pay them just what I owe, I have 5 loans, and one is threating to contact my employer, one has turned it over to National Credit Adjusters, that are rude and threating court, and can only do 2 installments. Please, I welcome any advice, I am going to contact Langhorne for help also. Thanks

First....close your bank account.

Second...revoke voluntary wage assignment. Give a copy to your payroll debt Even if they get a judgment, you cannot be garnished in NC.

I wouldnt waste money on a third party company like Langhorne. Simply write each PDL telling them you will pay the principal amount only since the loans are illegal. Cease and desist all collection agencies.

Complain about the payday lending companies to the State Attorney General at 9001 Mail Service Center Raleigh NC 27699-9001, and with the Federal Trade Commission. In addition close your bank account. Send your payments (only the principal) to the payday lenders through certified mail requesting a return receipt.

As for Langhorne solutions, they are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau, and does not even have any rating.
