If you're being harassed for a debt which is not yours, then just send a 'Cease and desist' letter to the collection agency asking them to stop contacting you since you don't owe it. Send it via certified mail return receipt which will help you to have a proof against them in case you're contacted again.
If the collection agency contacts you even after receiving the letter, you may file a case against them for violating FDCPA rules.
After solving this problem, take out your credit report and see whether the account is showing in your credit report. If yes, then dispute the account with the credit bureaus and have it removed.
