I'm sorry but your question is not clear. Are you sure that the debt is yours? Or your account has been charged off and has gone to a collection agency. If you want to know the status of your account, then take out your credit report from all the 3 credit bureaus. You're allowed to take 1 credit report from each of them once a year free-of-cost. You'll get to know with whom your account is at present.
