That is why the credit report is showing charged off.
Collection agencies buy thise charged off debts, then try to collect and make money. Next time the call comes in:
1 - state you don't discuss financial matters by phone unless you initiate the call and BE FIRM
2 - Ask her to send you a statement, and you WILL respond to it!
3 - If they keep going restate 1 & 2 above then hang up!!! You will be a basket case heap on the floor if you don't.
I have a letter you can then send them as promised, to respond to their statement. It's called a Cease & Desist. Go away and leave me alone. It can also be tweaked to state the SOL or Statute of Limitations has passed etc.
