hi everyone,

i am so thankful to all the people on this forum for all the wonderful information. i am about to venture into the world of debt settlement after paying on my cc for years on time. most of our debt comes from medical expenses for our daughter who has autism. we have a number of credit cards and currently i am trying to settle bank of america. they have been very nice to work with so far and i understand from reading here that they are actually one of the easiest to settle...could i ask for feed back regarding what cards are the easiest and what cards are the hardest to settle? i am trying to devise a plan of attack with my cards and this information would be so very helpful. also, any additional info you may have on each card such as lowest settlement or any tips you may have would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

Greetings,

chase-me down-was the easiest for me-settled all three of mine with one phone call.:D:D:D

boa-the snake-very easy also-they apologized for calling.:D:D:D

city-took a while but fairly easy for me.:D:D

the worst-discover and carp one.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Greetings,

45% at 90 days is just the starting point.

I would surely call them and start a conversation going.
You will gather great intel from them.

And if you don't like the agent, just hang up, call 'em back in 10 minutes, get a different csr. Tell 'em you're sorry for the bad connection....etc.

Always be polite and sympathise with them and their tough job.
Got a hardluck story?

Tell 'em that you are scrambling for money & ask them if they could "help" you out some more.

What would happen if you could raise the money in 30-60 more days?
It's a give and take scenario.

Maybe in 30 more days it falls to 35%?
Mine settled at about 100 days.

Good Luck,

I have American Express 10 months old. From what I read they usually do not sell to collection agency. Mine went to 3 different agencies for servicing in 6 months. Every time I sent DV letter it was moved to new agency. Now it is back with American Express.

They are now offering 55%. I am going to counter with 20% and elect arbitration.

Remember that they will tell you it is settled but they keep it on the books forever. Your cr will still show your original balance, less the settlement payment and will show your payment due as 0.
