Hi, I received a phone call yesterday from Portfolio about a credit card debt i owe from 1999. I haven't paid since 1999. They kept calling in the past and stopped and now they are at it again. I live only on my disability check. I have read here about SOL and don't know what to do. My questions are:
1. How do i stop them from calling me?
2. Do i send them a SOL and if so, where can i find a sample letter?
Thanks in advance.

If you know the SOL expiry date of your state and your account has passed it, then it's better not to acknowledge the debt. You can send them a letter via certified mail return request asking them to stop contacting you, in any form, for the debt as you're well aware of the SOL expiry date.
The following link will give you a sample letter which you can send to the collection agency: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/notify-ca-expiredsol.html#2.
