Ok, so my debt settlement journey is almost complete. Of the 5 credit card accounts I settled, only CHASE sued me and sent me a summons by mail. I finally settled with them at 40% just recently.

Here is my dilemma: I also applied for a job at JP Morgan Chase. They got back to me with interest and I have a interview with them in 2 weeks. It is a high paying job over $100K and its perfect for me.

Am i cooked? I assume they will pull my credit and see I settled with them. Also my score is probably in the 500's. Also, in the background check would they see the summons which was filed with the county? I know a judgement is easily found with a search, but how about just a summons?

Please give me any advice on how I should approach this......

Thanks!

Wow really great questions but unfortunately I don't know the answer. I do know from friends that work at banks that there are certain credit requirements. The insurance company that insures and bonds the employees sets those rules. So it would depend on what type of job that you were applying for. If its something that doesn't have the embezzelment factor in it then you may be okay.

Another note too is that since you are no longer in financial distress you may be okay. the insurance companies insuring the banks don't want employees that would be prone to stealing to make ends meet. But now that you are debt free you are at a lower risk I would think.
