As some of you know Ive just begun my settlement journey. The calls are starting. I plan on holding out to near chargeoff date and then offering whichever is willing to settle what Ive accumulated to that point.

Im assuming that some wont settle and will sue which leads me to my question for the group. Have any of you ever had a credit card lawsuit civil judgment AND was it ever "executed". Did they actually get any money from you?

The reason I ask is that im in a non garnishment state (SCarolina)plan on not having any money in a bank acct for them levy which takes away their 2 largest weapons post judgment. I dont have any land for them to Lien against so for all intents and purposes I can just buckle down and wait even post judgment for them to get tired and accept a settlement, I think.

Im wondering about peoples post judgment experiences to enlighten me.

Ive perused the summaries of a couple of hundred cases in my local court records for the last year and a half and Ive seen very few executions entered into the system and nearly all of these have come back "nulla bona" where they couldnt get any non exempt assetts.

Thanks in advance for your info.

I just got done settling my 4 credit cards. I was not sued by any of them. But that doesn't mean that some people aren't. According to an article I read, cc companies only sue about 10% of their delinquent borrowers.

If you keep in contact with them and keep repeating your story and it's believeable on why you have defaulted then your chances of being sued go down. Especially since you are in a non-garnishable state. I think they sue those that they think they can collect from.
