I have contacted credit answers and they are all set up to start taking money from my bank account. Is this a good way to settle my credit card debt?

Wow, your post is a little unclear, since you didn't capitalize or put in quotes, but I assume that you have just begun working with a debt settlement company called "Credit Answers." Is that correct? I just checked on Credit Answers, and it doesn't take much digging to find people saying how they've been ripped off by them. PLEASE, TRY TO CANCEL YOUR DEAL WITH THEM, DO NOT LET THEM TAKE EVEN THE FIRST PAYMENT. It will be a total waste of money. Here's a link to some others' highly negative experiences with them: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/debt_counsel/credit_answers.html
That said, however, you can settle your own debts much better on your own. I am in the middle of doing just that, with the help of a fabulous on-line adviser who for a nominal fee has provided me the ability to negotiate my own settlements, so far between 35% and 45%. Please give me a call, 703-957-6768. I'm out a lot, so please leave a message if you miss me.
