The United Legal Alliance that I heard of is a legal company situated in Singapore. What exactly do you want to know?

Its a scam!

There seems to be a rash of these comanies lately that try from overseas to extort money from people by using official sounding names like that! I have had a few post today about a couple others! If they all have accents but have Anglo names that is always a clue!

Yes Frogpatch. Another thing which goes above my head is why all these scam companies have their offices in the middle-east Asia.

I have had both "United Legal Alliance" and "Crime Centers of America" try to scam funds from me. The later back in March and the former was TODAY... When you ask too many questions they eventually get frustrated and hang up on you.

The call came from a special investigator. First I haven't lived with my parents in well over 30 years and second there is no restraining order filed against me. They are using a phone number in San Antonio Texas. Take what information you have to the SA DA.[/COLOR]

These people just try to scare people to make them pay. File cases against them.

I just received a phone call from United Legal Alliance from Special Investigator Terri Raymond they actually called a phone line that is used for business purposes only and stated they were trying to get in contact with a relative of mine.

This relative of mine does not live with me nor do they know anything about the business phone line and does not know the phone number to give out the number.

This special investigator stated that my relative put me down as an emergency contact and give them this number. This was hard to believe so I continued to question the special investigator and she was in a hurry to me a call back number and affavidit number.

I asked was this an attempt to collect a debt and she said she did not know and my relative would need to call 210-280-8071.

I attempted to call the number back and was given prompts but I have a mind to call them back and record them. I will not pass this information on to my relative. I believe this is a SCAM!

I just had someone call me looking for a relative of mine. The person told me that my relative had to call back because of some type of investigation and they did not have any info about what was going on. I know it's a scam because my relative who had a phone turned on for me in her maiden name is over in Iraq and has not used that name for over 30 years. If she owes anyone its a trick to it. She has not been in the states for years. I experienced another scam where they were trying to sell magazines and needed to verify the credit card because of an issue. I never ordered a magazine. Then I had another person try to scam me with a free cell phone. I wish there was some type of policing that could catch these people. Does anyone know how to report them besides calling the local news?

My elderly mother received a call yesterday. She didn't answer the phone due to not knowing the number. They actually left a recorded message on her machine. They stated " This messages is for Sheila ****** A complaint has been filed against you, you have a court action apperance. Affadavit # , they then stated it was for a restraining order. The "Special Investigator" Craig Jones.....the call back number was 210-280-8071, yes you are given four prompts, if you are an attorney calling on behalf of your client, make a settlement to avoid court, calling due to a frozen or ceased account or if you know your parties extension. Okay I'm extremely glad I came across this forum which enlightened me... I figure it was a mistake...however if you do a reversed lookup on the whitepages it shows that number as a locksmith.. They scared my mom pretty badly.. who do I need to turn this over too..

First, file cases against them with your local police authorities for the harassment over the phone. Then, file cases with the FTC and the BBB.

I found the address to the number 210-280-8071 thru the BBB.com website......I got the same phone call and frankly so did my brothers wife whom he just married.....really odd providing we've only known her for a short time and never used her name on any document!

I just got a call from United Legal Alliance...is this the same supposed company that Tobias had?

I just got a call from this company as well...I was at work, so they left a message. They called for a person named "Kim *******" Now, that is not my name, and I have never heard of anyone by that name. They told me not to take the call lightly, that they were trying to help me, and to call back 2102808071--just like all the rest of you. I called the number back and got the 4 prompts you all received. Not sure of which one to choose to actually talk to the person who called me, I hung up. If I call anyone else, it will be a lawyer. Thank you all so much for posting that you believe this is a SCAM. I agree.

Has anyone gotten a second call from these people?

Got the same call today from a Investigator Craig Jones looking for someone I have never heard of. Considering we have had this phone number for over 15 years, I thought it sounded a little stange. Upon internet investigation, I found similar comments to this site. Am going to ignore call unless they call back.

I recieved a msg from a special investigator who said that there was legal action against me and in regard to a restraining order and that myself or my lawyer had 48hrs to call back to 210-280-8071. however what they dont understand is that for any court action i must be served the legal documents that are asking me to appear in court there is no restraining order until i am served and then have a hearing. This is illegal and a scam or scare tactic. You CANNOT be served with legal action verbally in any way shape or form.

its a scare tactic to extort money from innocent people. they arent legit at all. just google them and you will see so many complaints of the same nature.

This company is out to scare people and scam them out of money, they call and make up some case that never happened, like with me it was a restarining order in Pa.- I never lived there. They sound very serious and hence scam people and they get the numbers from folks that took applications for payday advance loans. I hope they go to hell for what they're doing.

I received a similar message today. When I returned the call, they were trying to confirm my personal info. The woman had my dob, SS#, address & work info. I filed a complaint on the FTC website. They said I was in violation of a subpoena that has been sent to my address. I never received any documents from them. She told em if I didn't make a payment over th phone, they would see me in court. She claims Wal-mart is suing me for fraud & harrassment! I told her I would counter-sue them for the same & they hung up.

How did they get my information???

Who knows how they got it...there are so many skip-tracing products and services out there, it is amazing and a little scary what they can get a hold of. Just because they have your information doesn't mean they have it legally. Fight every step of the way and do not allow them to intimidate you.

Yes, their number is 210 280 8071, scam trying to scare people into sending them money due to some fabricated emergency legal action/court order/debt/etc. Don't bother calling them back. :evil:

How did they get your number. Considering who they called here for and the date of the information, I'm guessing Providian.
