Just wondering because I went with a smaller bank while I settled my accounts and now that I have finished I really miss the technology of one of the bigger banks (not the snake).

Hi Dan,
My own thought is that once they have accepted the settlement.....and you have proof and it is on your credit report, I do not believe the reputable banks would not have a problem with this......I think that once it is done and on your credit report, it is done! I could be wrong.....and I don't know if I'd put tons of money in at first (but then, you probably don't have that ....like the rest of us here), but legally, I think it would be hard for them to pull off! this is debtor in CA....everytime, I think I have my password, I cannot sign in. Anyone else have a problem or ....it is probably me.....too much on my mind? tee hee ....good luck Dan and let us know what happens.
I switched to my credit union when I thought that I was going to do the BK and we owed to quite a few banks!!!

Right you are dd. Ch@se approved my checking account online with my opening deposit of $25. They asked a lot of questions online, obviously checked my cr (because they asked several questions about accounts to identify me), at which point I thought the jig was up... but it was a joint acct and we have kept my wife's credit perfect. So maybe that's it...i'll never know for sure. I got hooked on Chase again (after just settling in April) because they have this awesome iphone app where all you do is take a picture of a check and it gets deposited. How freaking cool is that. Needless to say, my main street bank and trust is a ways off from having that.
