Lenders that are not licensed to lend are not entitled to any interest or fees, deduct what you have paid them already from the amount you borrowed, that is all you would owe. You need to close your account because it will never be safe again, I will give you a link which will guide you step by step on how to deal with this situation, CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

It sounds like a scam to me, I would never admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone. Unless you receive a letter of collection via the mail, tell them to shove it where the sun doesn't shine!

I talked to them today and they had tons of correct info on me except they had my DOB wrong and they had dates all wrong...they told me that I i took the loan out in texas 3 months after I moved from tx to ar...i have never taken one out in ar. I told him that I would need more info so I can research this before i agree to pay anything...I did tell him that I am a person that if do owe something I will pay it but i need more than someone on a phone telling me I owe money. they emailed me a settlement letter and the settlement is way more then what I was loaned...did I say too much...

Ask them for their full name, address and telephone number. If they refuse to give you that information they are a scam, if they do give you the information you can research them at the BBB and this site.

there lies the problem.they must send you details via the USPS not email.both the loan, and the collector are bottomfeeders.btw you didn't say too much.you never admitted owing this debt so you are okay.i wouls send an email response stating you want details via the USPS.the email showed nothing.

some suggestions...I informed these people that the pdl companies they are representing are not legal to loan money in the state of tx...the guy said that may be the case but i took these loans out and I owe them the money which I will pay them (I have not admitted to) but I cant get them to give me the principal amount that was loaned and the correct date it was loaned on...what should I do now? also I think they (collection company) have violated the FCPA (?) by telling third party too much info about this...am I right?

You need to get their full name and address and send them a DV letter. If they can't validate the debt (and they can't because it's illegal), then you can tell them to FOAD. What you should do is contact the original lender, tell them you are aware they are an illegal lender and that you will only repay them the amount you borrowed. Get their mailing address and pay them via money order (minus anything you've already paid) and demand a PIF letter.
