Please Help Received a summons not sure what to do

I received a summons on Saturday for a old account that was charged off to a debt collection agency and they sought out a lawyer. We have no money to pay this and do not want legal action taken against us. We have a few more in collections also. Is debt settlement the route to take if a summons was served or is debt management still an option??? Please help not sure what to do. Thank you.

If not, they will simply enter a default judgment 100% in favor of the creditor and they will add a bunch of court costs and attorney fees. Once it goes through court, you certainly can settle for less than full. Happens all of the time.
