My sister has been contacted by a few lawyers stating they would like to help her because she is being sued. She isn't sure what to do and she really isn't in a good financial situation. Do you have any advice?

Well, she isn't sure what to do about it. I have given her this website to peruse so it will help her. Basically, she doesn't know what to expect when she receives the summons or when she shows up in court. She has this perception that bankruptcy would ruin her and take everything she has, or if a payment plan was set up following bankruptcy, it would be more than she could afford. She can't afford a lawyer, and I wonder if she even needs one. I just wondered if there were any tips I could give her to help.

Get on this site and read....she has some very bad misconceptions. Bankruptcy wont ruin you and they do not take everything you own. I filed many years back....didnt loose a thing.

When she receives the summons, she needs to answer the court. Does she have any defense? Debt not hers? She made or is making payments?

Get her on here....
