Has anyone settled account with Applied Bank or Tribute Bank on there own.

Hi there I am settling my accounts all that I can before I turn them over to a debt settlement company to save money. I have settled my HSBC accounts and still have Applied, Tribute, Target, and Merrick credit cards. Has anyone settled on there own with these cards. I settle with HSBC with 30 and 40% of the balance owed. I have one account charging off next week Tribute I think it was.
This card was a rip off , I paid on time the minimum and they only deducted 6.00 from my account last year. I really don't feel I owe them anything. After the 500 fees they have
attached to the account that I did not charge. Thanks
