Settle with Cavalry Portfolio Services

Anyone here ever settled with Cavalry Portfolio Services??? I have a chargeoff that they now supposidly own (on my credit report at least).
It's over $10,000 and I obviously don't have that kind of money. I was hoping to settle for 20-25% of the balance.
I know they are a shady collector. Anyone recently settled with them?

Have they contacted you for the debt? Let the collection agency
Have they contacted you for the debt? Let the collection agency contact you for the debt. Then, you can put forward your settlement offer and if they agree, ask for the settlement agreement in writing. If you're suspicious about their shady character, it's best to have everything in writing.
Once the settlement amount is agreed upon, pay them off and make them report the account to the credit bureaus as 'Paid as agreed'.
