Hi All!
I am being sued twice by a law firm in Chicago..(Blatt, Hasenmiller..etc...) 1 for Livingston Financial and 1 for FIA...I have asked twice now for each to validate the debt ...No response..(I sent Certified etc..)
I am in the process of answering the Summons...The Livingston Financial is over 12K, so I have to fill out an "Answer" to their complaints...What is the best way to answer?..Do I DENY all complaints except for my name and that I live in Cook County, IL?...(An example is: "Defendant opened a charge account etc...." I did, but do I answer, "DENIED"?) Any help would be greatly appreciated!...Thanks, T. E.

Did you mail the validation letters before getting sued? If yes, you can include this in the answer to the summons. For filing the answer you can get help from the court clerk, or from an attorney. Filing answer to summons is quite a complex thing, and thus it is best to get help from a lawyer.

--answering paragraph one of the complaint defendant denies. plaintiff has not provided proof of xxxxx.

--answering paragraph one of the complaint defendant denies. defendant does not live in venus. defendant lives on mars. (or whatever)

--andwering paragraph xxx of the complaint defendant is at this time without knowledge or information sufficient to form a belief as to the truth of the allegation contained therein, and on that basis generally and specifically denies the allegation contained therein, and leaves the Plaintiff to its strictest proof.

or you can say:
answering paragraphs 1, 3, 6 , 9 of the comlaint defendant denies.
answering paragraphs 2, 4, 5, 7,8, 10 of the complaint defendant is
