Hi - has anyone been successful in dealing with online PDL companies, i.e., closing their account, sending cease and desist emails, getting harrassing calls, having the companies stop and/or send PIF emails, etc.? Anyone gotten a refund for overpayment?

I'd really like to hear from people who've been through it as to how long it took them, etc.

Thanks much!

There are many success stories posted here regarding PDLs! I had around seven at one time! It seemed there was no out until I came here! Once I realizd that most were illegal and I really did not owe more than I borrowed and my bank, after a year, was here to help me, I finally saw the end of the tunnel! Each case is different! But there is a resolution! Tell us how much you borrowed from each lender, how much you owe and how much you have paid so far? Also what state are you in and are they internet or storefronts? Tell us and we can help! If you do not get an answer please bump your question as it is a slow time on Satuday night! To bump just type a word and hit post! That will keep you in front of everyone!

Thanks Frogpatch! I've gotten replies from another moderator who was very helpful about what I needed to do, but I just wanted to hear from others as to their success as I'm very nervous about going through with the suggestions.

I live in Virginia and I have two internet loans (had 5, but paid off 3 of them):

Paradise Cash Advance
Borrowed $500
Interest payment each paycheck (2x month): $120
Have paid $1364

Panamcash
Borrowed $400
Interest payment: $120
Have paid $480

Thanks for your help!

I had 10 PDL's and thank God I found this forum! These people on here are wonderful and if you follow their advice you will have success! Once I closed my account and sent the companies letters (I attached a copy of my state PDL laws). I did get phone calls and letters in the mail from collection agencies (which were as illegal as the PDL companies). I wrote them letters letting them know they were illegal and have not heard anything since. A few others I had to send the letter a few times, I still get calls from Pay Day Loan Yes but that's it (AFTER 3 MONTHS!). I will be honest, it will be stressful at first but stick to your guns. DO NOT LET THEM INTIMIDATE YOU! After about a month things settled down. The reward however is when you receive your paycheck and it is all yours! It was the best moment I have had in 2 years. I am payday loan free and it is thanks to following the advice you will find here.

I have been dealing with this for about two weeks and I got one company to say my account is paid in full. Here are the emails from Great Sky:

From them:

......,

You will not be receiving any credit back from us. As I previously stated this is considered a settlement and will be reported as one.

From me:
Thank you for marking my account paid in full. I am finalizing my letter's to the Arizona Attorney General, South Dakota Attorney General, BBB, and the FTC. When can I expect my refund of $480 due back to me? If I do not hear back from you by the end of business today I will go ahead t
