I am currently in a debt management program with MMI. We have about 54K in cc debt that we are trying to pay off. I started the program earlier this year and have decent interest rates that MMI negotiated with us for all the cards except Barclays who won't agree to anything. They say what they want, then they decline the offer once they get what they asked for saying it isn't enough. Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible for me to negotiate even better terms like 0% interest on the cards I am trying to payoff if I am already on the debt management plan. I am looking to still save some extra money each month, we are making it, but it is still tight each month.

Hello Sammy,

In this crazy world of credit card negotiations where different departments within the same company usually don't know what the other departments are doing, anything is possible.

However, what you are asking is not likely going to work out. They really don't have an incentive to lower the rate even more if you are already in a DMP plan and currently paying a higher rate.
