I need help. I received a $600 payday loan. I agreed to have it all paid off on the 1st of July. they locked me out of my account and then said that since I didn't log into my account prior to the 1st of the money - they were changing the terms and I would now be making payments. I have had to change my checking account due to the amount of fradulent activity that has resulted from getting this loan (apparently my info went to other lenders). How do I get this resolved? I am in Nebraska and they are Deluxe Cash Club. They talked to my 10 year old daughter on the phone today and told her if her Mommy didn't pay this back - they would come and arrest me! Any ideas are appreciated.

Are you sure they're licensed in your state? I did some research but couldn't find them in the licensee database of your state. If they're not legal, they'll not be able to do anything to you. You can contact the Department of Banking and Finance of your state to check out on them and also complain against them.

If they do not have a physical store front in Nebraska, they aren't legal. I am in Nebraska, so I have called the dept of banking and finance, I was told "internet" payday loans are not legal. Also, submit a complaint to the dept of banking and finance. You can do it online, and also file a complaint with the FTC, what they said to your daughter is also illegal. Provide both the FTC and the NE dept of banking and finance as much information you can. If I recall correctly, since they are not licensed, you only owe them the principle amount you borrowed.

Keep us posted. Or send me a private msg if you need more help. Hang in there.

djcross: question for you. I have several pdls internet. I know 5 are illegal to do business in Ohio. They all went into default July 9. I overpaid a few of them. I sent all of them the CD letter and asked for refunds and pif letter. As of today, I have not heard one thing from any of the pdls and am worried. Do you think this is a good thing or bad thing?
