Well the only way to not sink your credit score is to continue paying on time. But one of the other options is to settle the debts. If you go late enough they will eventually offer you some type of one payment settlement.
Who are your creditors and how much do you owe each and we'll be able to help you.

How much do you still owe on your cc's? I'd most recommend you pay off the cc's (unsecured) first as they stand to do more damage to your credit score. Also consider paying more than the minimum due on your debt as this will help you clear your debts much faster. Would have recommended debt consolidation but most relief companies will rarely accept debt accounts of less than $10k minimum. Try calling your credit card company, explain your situation, and ask to negotiate for a settlement...it may just solve some of your financial problems if they agree to negotiate. Hope this helps. @exdebt

Your debt amount is too small to qualify for a consolidation as well. And creditors, generally, accept settlement offers only after you default on your payments for at least 3 months. But, as Bernard posted, you may contact your creditor and explain your financial position to them. You might be able to get a settlement offer. But, just remember that settling debts can hurt your credit score. Keep us posted about the proceedings.
