BOA interest rate jump
Date: Tue, 08/10/2010 - 17:19
My wife and I did a consolidation loan with BOA about 1 1/2 years ago. We were 2 days late on 2 payments within a 6 month period and they cranked our interest rate to 18%. We have been on time for a year now and they will not drop our interest rate. Does anyone know of a way to get them to cooperate, or of another company that is reputable to work with us? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What does your prom note say? Did it allow for this?

It was so long ago, that I do not remember. I get paid every 2 weeks, and the due date fell right before I got paid 2 months in a row. I called after that and got them to change the due date so it would not happen again, but they had already changed the interest rate. Now they won't even discuss negotiating the rate drop. We are able to make the bill, but after everything is done, we have VERY little to make the month on. Not sure where to go from here.
