Well Doren, these are bottomfeeders. They have a lot of negative info in the net. They can't sue you. File complaints with your local police authority and your states' Attorney General about the harassing calls. Check with your service provider if they can block the number.
If they call back, tell them nothing other than that you know they're a scam and that you've reported them to law enforcement.
I wouldn't be too concerned unless you are actually served paper
I wouldn't be too concerned unless you are actually served papers. If there was actually a law suit against you, you would have been served papers. You can easily find out by going to your county court website and do a search.
Should I call them. I have not been served papers but I did not
Should I call them. I have not been served papers but I did not actually receive the call either. They called my parents house. What do I do if I am served papers? This could be from an illegal lender of internet pdl's

do not call them.whoever this is broke the law as saying the word "lawsuit"to another person is third party disclosure.all you will get are a bunch of illegal threats.if you do believe they are trying to collect an illegal ipdl.then have your parents file a police report for the call.then i wouldn't worry.nobody calls a third party like that unless they are a bottomfeeder.

Thanks. a little reassuring. If they were legit you would be able to fond them somewhere online. cant even connect the number to a business. Would be so much easier if they would just quit calling.

yeah,if they cared about the law,or acting like humans instead of humanoids, but that is what they are.just have your parents file the report, and if they should call you.hang up without a word.that is what they deserve, nothing else.

You got a call from the habba dabbas. They go by various names online:
United Legal Processing Division
Midline Marketing
Crime Monitoring Services
Monetary Crime Division
U.S. National Bank
Attorney General’s Office (usually in California)
American Legal Services
Affidavit Consolidation Services (ACS)
Law office of Shawn Wood
They also use a plethora of phone numbers to evade the authorities. Do not be surprised if in 2-3 weeks you start getting calls from a new phone number.

This is my advice:
Inform the caller that you are aware that this is a scam. Indicate that you have reported them to local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Tell them that you have been advised by lawn enforcement not to speak with them any further and hang up.
Read up on the FDCPA and just begin checking off all the violations these callers have made. (And keep track of all the ones they will continue to make) A growing number of us that have been getting these calls for sometime now are starting to form a group and documenting the calls for possible prosecution and a civil lawsuit should we determine the identities of these callers. I have gotten very close.
If possible, change your phone number. For some, this isn't easy (or free). In some cases, phone companies will offer their customers a one-time number change as a courtesy. Take them up on this offer if you can. If the phone company normally charges for this, see if providing a valid police report will waive the fee. A trick of the trade has been to throw the callers off by calling them from another temporary line and identifying yourself. The crooks will record the number you called from based on the Caller ID and try to contact you at that number if you don't answer the primary number they have on file. This is when you disconnect that original primary number.
*Caution, your listed references on your payday loan application will be contacted*
Inform your references of the scam and tell them to hang up and not answer.
The calls should eventually stop.
I requested information from them in regards to what the lawsuit
I requested information from them in regards to what the lawsuit was about and got something from them with the heading The Legal Line and had a California address on it with the 312-912-7816 phone number. It was very poor grammar so I know that it didn't come from a fluent speaking American.

Would you have them connected to a Ricky Nunez? This is who keeps calling me. He has to be out of breath. He has been trying to call me and has toleave a message everytime at least 2 minutes long. It's hard when you don't know how to speak english. He is going to file a lawsuit against me in the State of Michigichigan.

Have you ever applied for a payday loan or other type of online transaction? A lot of the illegal PDls provide customer information to these lowlifes. For all I know, the scammers might be sitting 2 cubicles down from the PDL people! Many of these companies are overseas; they use bogus "American" names and telephone numbers, and are probably reading from a script. They use official-sounding names for their companies and lots of legal-sounding terminology to scare people. When they call up, hang up on them, they can't argue with a dial tone.

7076332788- Rose Miller ( a male voice) and James Davis. Same thing. I'm going to jail, blah blah. Called my mother and told me they would get me fired for my job when they told them I was a "criminal". I had one loan with CashNetUsa, called them, and they told me to go to the police because it sounded like a scam! Even the PDL are on to them, so that's bad. Freaked out until I realized it was totally a scam. There are scam reports all over for them- I filed with the FTC, and state attorney general. I also told everyone NOT to speak with them if they called. I think they buy info from various sources, piece it together- all the info they had for me was right but a little off, like old address, etc. I called them back to ask for a name and address because I was calling the police, and they hung up on me. Could not give me an actual lender name or number. Very heavy accent. Hard to understand.
These scammers are becoming a veritable epidemic, aren't they?
These scammers are becoming a veritable epidemic, aren't they? The best thing IS not to talk to them and if they're calling your family, friends, or work, tell the people that you're being bothered by scammers and they should just hang up on them. The scammers can't argue with a dial tone!

I had this experience before but I found out it was a scam. However, I recently accepted the loan on line and I thought it was all scammed because once you are accepted, I receive more then one lenders telling me that I am qualify for the loan. Well, I got one and I thought it was scammed so I ignored it but later one I was called that I hadn`t paid the money which I was suppose to pay to cover the loan.
How can we tell which lenders is real and license and which is not lisence? I don`t want to get in trouble again.
