still unable to pay loan back

Hello, I got 2 payday loans almost a year ago in the state of Texas with advance america and payday1. And got all caught up trying to pay them back with refinanceing every week and then eventually fell behind. Close my bank account and opened another. Now I owe the bank money (Compass Bank). Now I got attorney's calling me for repayment which worries me. WHat should I do? I'm still struggling check to check and can't make promises to pay them. Any suggestions?

You owe the bank for what? NSF's? That is a totally seperate issue from your payday loans. The bank you will need to pay. One of the experts will chime in as to whether or not the pay day loans are even legal.

If they debited your account in various unknown amounts and/or required you to pay them via electronic fund transfer, they are illegal. If the bank charged you an OD fee, thats also illegal without consent (but the fees would have to be very, very recent)
