Collection agencies are harrassers and intimidators. Thats all they know how to do. I have not seen any nice nor understanding one. My husband has cancer and we have no insurance. We have to use bill and food money to pay for medication and when you cannot not pay they really get the guns out. How sad. What has this world come to? Nobody cares if you have a disease. They would rather you die.

While I feel for your situation, you must also look at the position of legitmate CA's. They spend thier day working the phones getting the run around from 90% of the people that they speak with supplying "stories" of sickness, death, dire straits, ect. Very seldomly do they run into a true story such as yours. Unfortunatly, you have to bear the brunt of the masses of liars and cheats that just do not want to pay thier debts, but would rather have the nice cars, nice clothes, best cell phone and all of the movie channels.

I know that it does not help your situation, but working collections makes one very pessismistic due all of the deception. I would ask to speak to a supervisor and offer to provide necessary documentation to support your situation. If this works, FOLLOW THRU with your documentation. Also, try to offer something, no matter how small, to show a good fait effort.

Best of Luck.
