I'm trying to settle with a bank and they want to know my income. If I told them, it would most likely only help my case... but I'm still hesitant to do so. They also want to know all of my other expenses like utilities, phone, etc.

Should I tell them? Thanks

My experience was that almost none of the CCs that I settled with at 120 days asked me much about income or my living expenses.....Not BOA, Citi, Chase or Cap One. I do believe that one of my dept store credit cards did.....but I pretty much just told them all that my husband's business had gone out and Maybe because they can see all of your debt (they have your credit report right before them) that they didn't question me. I did answer some basic questions about my income when it came to one of my accounts when I was applying for their hardship program (BOA)....then they did ask about my income and living expenses.
So, my experience:
settling husband's debt after 120 days: no specific income or expenses questions
Hardship programs (2 cards): yes, questions
