My head is spinning with all the things I have read online. To pay a little or none at all. We talked with a debt settlement company but don't feel comfortable with that. We've had a major loss of income and have a large family and don't really know what to do. Should we pay a little bit of something or just hold on and see if they will settle and then borrow some money from a family member or with income tax or what? Don't know what to do. We have about 15k in cc debt. Pathetic, I know.

Just remember that you can only do what you can do. So with that being said, make sure you are taking care of your necessities first. After necessities, pick the card with the lowest balance and do anything and everything you can to pay more than the minimum payment. If you are comfortable not paying the others then that is what i would do. At least not until you have the lowest balance card paid off. If you don't feel comfortable with that then pay the other cards small amounts. They are going to bug the crap out of you but like i said in the beginning you can only do what you can do. After paying off the first card move on to the next card with the smallest balance. You definitely try to settle throughout this process as often as you can. If you have the cash. Hope this helps. If not let me know why.

If your plan is to eventually settle, I wouldn't continue making payments of any kind, it will delay their willingness to settle and would be like throwing money away.
