Hello! I am being sued by lvnv; I am trying to find out if the debt is from Citibank. Listed as "collateral" on my credit report is Citibank Sears Premium card. What does this mean? I have never had a citibank sears premium card. How can I find out from Citibank if this is accurate, and if a debt has been charged off? It is my understanding that once a debt is charged off, you cannot be sued. Also, if the institution that is suing you is not in your state, you cannot be sued. (However, the lawyer who is handling this is in my state). Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Ann

Nope, you are totally wrong. Charge off just means that the company has charged it off their "good" books and it is now a" bad" debt. It is still totally collectable. It doesnt really matter where they are located either, as long as the attorney suing you is in your county or state.

Did you have a sears card?
