Redline Recovery is a collection agency that has to follow the legal points mentioned in the fdcpa. Since you have asked them verbally to stop contacting you without having any purpose, they don't sound to follow the law. It's your turn to send them a Cease and desist letter and force them to stop calling you further in legal terms.

Dear X
1. You are hereby notified under provisions of Public Laws 104-208, also known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that your services are no longer desired.
2. You and your organization must CEASE & DESIST all attempts to collect the above debt. Failure to comply with this law will result in my immediately filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the [inster your home state] Attorney General's office. I will pursue all criminal and civil claims against you and your company.
3. Let this letter also serve as your warning that I may utilize telephone recording devices in order to document any telephone conversations that we may have in the future.
4. Furthermore, if any negative information is placed on my credit bureau reports by your agency after receipt of this notice, this will cause me to file suit against you and your organization, both personally and corporately, to seek any and all legal remedies available to me by law.
5. Since it is my policy neither to recognize nor deal with collection agencies, I will settle this account with the original creditor.
Give this matter the attention it deserves!
And have a nice day.

Tailor this letter according to your specific requirements as you don't have any outstanding debt.
The CA must stop contacting you after receiving this letter. If they place the call further, you are in charge of taking the legal actions.

wow!! Good job John!!! you even supplied him with the address that he needs to send it to.
Mike, John is correct. You have to mail them a letter telling them to stop calling you. It has to be in writing. Some agencies do not listen to verbal requests, and its not against the law for them to continue to call after a 'verbal' request, it has to be one in writing. (some will respect a verbal request but apparently these people won't). Once they have it in writing, it is against the law for them to continue to call you. If they do, you can take them to court. John has gave you an excellent letter to go by here. He even got the address for you. good luck on this, I know what a pain these phone calls can be!

Thanks Shirley, I do understand the pain behind dealing with such CA's who regularly violate the federal laws. They don't seem to support anything unless legal guidelines are brought into action. We may be behind on some of our bills, but we do not deserve to be treated in unfair ways.
The collectors tend to use phone calls, threats, insults and lies as the common ways to fear the people and extract money from them. We have to arm ourselves so that we can fight back such downright dirty and illegal collections. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act gives consumers the power to strike back against such abusive debt collectors.
This is the number they have told me to fax a police report
(716)250-5015 All of these incidents sound exactly like in my situation. So I plan to send them the Cease & Desist Letter. Do I have to change the Certified Mail, Return Receipt Request #? This sounds like I have to send it via some specific mail carrier? How exactly?

Yes, sending your correspondences through certified mail with return receipt requested is important. It will help you prove that you contacted them earlier for this and that purpose, right? Besides sending the snail mail, you can also use facsimile to contact them.

had former redline problem, looked them up on BBB...
I don't know where to post this, sorry...but I called redline and told them they were mistaken and luckily they stopped. Anyway my question is this: BBB's website makes redline sound reputible. They also made this other company, a moving company I used who are also scum bags, look good. Sounds like no company can do wrong with the BBB. Then what good is the Better Buisiness Bureau anyway?
BBB..
The BBB is only as good as the people using it, and if the company will listen.
I've had my own run in with redline, and it took over 6 months and a judgement against them to get them to stop calling. The BBB really didn't help (or care) about it. Remember that membership in the BBB is voluntary for companies.. and the BBB is all about buisness self-regulation. They may claim to be "Staunchly Neutral" in their information (web site even says this) but they make their money (and they do make some money) from the member companies. As far as I'm concerned, the BBB is no better than a PR firm for it's members that tries to stop negative customer opinions.

I have a problem, WHY display your credit score? Do you know how easy it is to hack into somehting like this, get your ip address and then start getting your personal information? Look up internet security and pratice it like it is the bible.

I think FYI is trying to help in the long run. She is expressing her concern for people who are not well informed about these small things. Don't take it the other way. Maybe, someone new will understand and not do such things that can risk their personal information.

Sadly there are millions upon millions of people who think they are safe on the internet. No one is safe, you aren't and I already know I'm not.
It is so easy for someone with a small amount of skill to hack into most public forums and steal an IP address. An IP address leads back to your internet provider, the city and state you are getting service from. Depending on what security you have youself it can give them your name and address. With your name and address someone could really mess you up.
Posting such details as a credit score or account information of any type is dangerous.
