I am writing this time about a call I received, in addition to my brother and my mother (who is NOT a reference listed) tonight... after 9:00pm. The first caller left a message with my mom calling himself Mr.Stamp. He told my mom there was possible ID theft on my bank account and I should call him right away because he was trying to decide whether or not I make many online purchases. The number he gave was 1-877-400-0286, the number on the caller ID was 410-696-7202, and when Bill (another caller) called my phone the number displayed was 202-326-2222. I did call back, but I argued with Bill and hung up on him. I mostly wanted to know WHY he would call my mom when she was never listed as a reference for any loans I have ever taken. He is representing Cardinal Management. I did default on a loan with them last fall but it was for $200, not the $457 he wants me to pay. He told me he was not a collection agency, ummm... ok?? So why are we trying to work out a payment schedule then. I didnt trust any of it but I do owe on this loan. I am working with a consolidator and I know they made them an offer to settle so this is why they have resurfaced. I will complain the the AG and FTC but it never seems to help??

Oh, and Bill said I was going to be sued for "bad check" writing in my county too... he said there was no difference between a paper check verses an ACH transaction when it came to the court systems.
410-696-7202 was from Baltimore MD. At least based on the search
410-696-7202 was from Baltimore MD. At least based on the search I made that is what came up. If you look that number up on Pipl you will find numerous complaints, so, it looks like another scam. 202-326-2222 is the Federal Trade Commission's number!

Shazzers, wow... you are right... but that number came up on my phone when the callers phoned me. First it was missing the last digit "2" but the second call shows the entire number on my phone.

If you have ever filed a complaint with the FTC you may want to call them back and let them know about it, if they aren't the ones that called you it means someone is spoofing their number.

I did file a complaint with the FTC right after the call. I didnt realize the number was the FTC. Unreal. I believe it was this "Federal Recovery" company doing just that, spoofing their number. The call came after 9:00pm, the same time I was taking the message from my mom that my check account had some unusual activity.
