I found this site a few weeks ago, posted about my situation and have been reading, reading, reading. So much information. Thanks to everyone who shares. My husband and I are not over 30 days late with Chase, Citi, Discover and BofA. It is scary but we just couldn't do the minimum payments anymore. My job hours were cut 2 years ago and then I finally was laid off last year. Our mortgage and car payment are current and we plan to keep it that way. The Chase (2 accts) and Citi accounts are in my name only. If worst case we get sued and lose on these accounts can they garnish my husband's wages to pay since I have no wages to garnish? Just wondering so I know what position I will be negotiating from.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Nope, they cannot garnish someone else for your debt.

Thanks for the quick answer. We are so used to thinking in terms of "our" debt and it all of a sudden dawned on me that 1/2 of it is in my name and 1/2 is in my husband's name and only he has a job right now. Good to know husband's wages cannot be garnished for any card in my name.
thanks again!
