Any suggestions out there on how to deal with GC corp? From reviews, they look like a challenge. I have a $25,000 debt with Citi. Thanks

I got 20% from them on a citi account.... they were a bit of a pain ... but convinced them that 20% is better than 0% on a chapter 7 bk.....
It was a one payment deal .... balance of about 13k ... right before chargeoff ...

Try to get 15 % if you can .... I think you might get it because of your large balance.
I got 15 % on a 22k citi .... right after chargeoff.... it was with another CA though...

Did you have to send them any proof that you were unable to pay your payments? The lady I am dealing with offered me a settlement of $8940 and then five minutes later changed it to $10,956, saying she made a mistake. I have put in an offer, but she refused it. She said she would send it back to Citi bank with a statement of refusal to pay.

I think I sent them a hardship letter .... and I said pull my credit , you will see that I am late on everything.... Also we were self employed with alot of unsecured debt ... I do think that is a factor in getting the best settlement % 's .
For exp.... if you are late on house payment, self employed, alot of unsecured debt, no real assets, and you have talked to a BK attorney.... I think you will get the best settlement they have to offer.

Me personally I would not settle for more than 15-20 % .... How late is it ? Has it charged off ?
Also consider , if it is your last card maybe go 20-30 % just to be done with it .... everyone is different
