Do not every get involved with this bank

I naively got a credit card from this bank at the Express clothing store. Never have I met with such rudeness. My balance was 60$. I was late paying so they tagged on a $20 late charge. I asked them to take it off, they didn't do so. I did paid the balance but they kept tagging late charge after late charge until the total was $260. I agreed to settle for $145 finally but they still report it as a loss or "charge off" on my credit report instead of "closed settlement". When I called to ask if they could correct this they were extremely rude and refused to help. It was like dealing with some hoodlums on the street. I just want to know what recouse I have. I want to write to the president of this company. Can you help?

oh my husband got a similar problem with them! after we payed it off and were paying on time, they still posted a late charge for some reason!!! we didn't even know about it until he got a charge off for it, we were like???? we asked them to remove it but they never did! eventhought i had all the receipts that we payed on time!! auggh!! never again getting a credit card, i'm done!-- sorry for not helping but i shared my experience!

I think a bank cannot practice such illegal activities. Have you taken a written agreement that the account will be repoted as 'settled' before paying? If yes, then you can dispute the account with the credit bureaus.
